Experts and AI checkers say Wes Streeting most probably used AI to write his piece attacking Tony Blair. Released in the Guardian last night…
Streeting’s Guardian riposte includes such phrases as:
“But here is the striking weakness at the heart of Tony Blair’s intervention:”
“Inequality – the economic, social and democratic fracture running through modern Britain – is treated as peripheral rather than fundamental.”
A source from the AI Security Institute, which is part of DSIT, said: “artificial intelligence has almost certainly been used to edit this article. It’s likely that the author wrote down their thoughts and ideas before asking a Large Language Model to refine them and edit them into a piece.” Might as well let Claude run the country at this rate…
Several AI checkers also suspect Streeting of using an LLM. A report from popular checker Pangram has high confidence that the text uses AI phraseology throughout, as does GPTZero. Blair’s piece scores zero…
Streeting has been pinging his piece around Labour MP WhatsApp groups. If he did write it all with his own brain then that is even worse…
Batting away critical points from Nick Robinson on the Today Programme, Tony Blair said:
“I always used to say the greatest source of election-losing advice was the Guardian.”
