Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper was asked this morning if the UK told the US they cannot use RAF bases for strikes on Iran. She didn’t deny it…
Cooper said instead:
“The UK and the US have a long deep security partnership. We work immensely closely and on the issue of Iran that is why we’re supporting the US talks taking place with Iran because frankly the Iranian regime has continued to pose a security threat has continued to pursue uh nuclear weapons and that is why we’ve supported sanctions and also to increase diplomatic and economic pressure on the regime. That’s what we believe is the right thing to do.”
The Times reported yesterday that fury over the UK blocking the US from using RAF bases prompted Trump to blast the Chagos surrender deal. Hardly the stuff of “Global Britain”…
Former leader of the SNP in Westminster Ian Blackford told Times Radio why he believes Nicola Sturgeon’s claim that she spent no time in the kitchen and therefore didn’t see any of her husband’s purchases:
“She doesn’t have a passion for cooking.”
