Jonathan Hall KC, independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, told Times Radio:
“I think it was excellent. I mean, as you probably know, I was very keen to see more information after Southport. And I think it was almost textbook. I mean, it’s obviously really tough because you do get people saying, well, tell us more information right now. And when it’s a live investigation right at the start, I think I trust the police to keep their cards close to their chest because they may be looking for a network. They don’t want to give any clues about who they’ve got in custody. But as soon as it’s safe to do so, I think it’s a really good idea to put out this sort of information.”
