Former Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has said that Richard Hermer must have known about the spy case’s collapse:
“He has some questions to answer because this is one of the offences which required an attorney general’s decision, not an arm’s length CPS decision.”
Wallace told Times Radio notifications of the case will have “reached the political level of the Labour government” and his “track record… might give us an interesting indication.” Hermer has experience litigating against the government after all…
Speaking to Sky News off the back of Rachel Reeves’ Air Passenger Duty hike, Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary said:
“Labour is dependent on those Red Wall seats, and yet every move she makes poisons economic growth and damages the UK’s recovery… it’s the Chancellor who stumbles from policy misstep to policy misstep… I think her policy decisions are incredibly stupid.”
