Nigel Farage has told Guido’s Ellie Wheatley he is opposed to the UK’s decision to ban Israelis from the Royal College of Defence Studies as of next year. Speaking at Reform’s press conference this morning, Farage said:
“I don’t think we should be doing that. And I think, you know, we’ve always been a great ally of Israel. It doesn’t mean we support every single thing they do, far from it. But… it seems to me that criticism of Israel, criticism of the Israeli army, criticism of zionism… and quite where that merges with outright antisemitism is perhaps a bigger intellectual debate than we can have right here right now. But it does seem to me that all the pressure is heading in that direction…”
It is the first time the college has ever excluded Israeli students…
Lucy Powell on LBC, asked by Tom Swarbrick for her reaction to Labour MP Samantha Niblett’s call for a ‘summer of sex’ debate in Parliament: “I personally don’t own any sex toys, but each to their own… I’m not really sure that’s the right place for it, no.”
