Prosecutors have dropped charges against Christopher Cash and Christopher Barry, who were accused of spying for China in March 2023. Both men had pleaded not guilty to the charges under the Official Secrets Act. They stood accused of gathering intelligence “calculated to be, might be, or were intended to be, directly or indirectly, useful to an enemy”…
Cash, then a parliamentary bag carrier, was reported at the time to have been involved with Parliament’s China Research Group (CRG). Prosecutors told the Old Bailey this morning “we simply cannot continue to prosecute this case”…
Speaking to Sky News off the back of Rachel Reeves’ Air Passenger Duty hike, Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary said:
