An astonishing 3,790 company directors have left the UK since Reeves’ bombshell Budget last October. According to the FT, that’s up from 2,712 the previous year – a near 40% increase in just twelve months. The UAE is by far the most popular destination for those heading out the door. The monthly peak happens to be April 2025, when 691 entrepreneurs packed their bags just as the abolition of the non-dom tax regime took effect…
As reported this morning, Reeves is set to come back for another £40 billion raid in this year’s Budget too, thanks to low growth and sky-high borrowing. Despite all warning signs flashing red, the Treasury has insisted this morning there’s no cause for concern:
“The UK remains highly attractive. Our main capital gains tax rate is lower than any other G7 European country and our new residence-based regime is simpler and more attractive than the previous one, whilst it also addresses tax system unfairness so every long-term resident pays their taxes here.”
16,500 millionaires are set to leave the UK this year. That’s 16,500 top taxpayers no longer contributing a penny to the Treasury’s coffers…
Former leader of the SNP in Westminster Ian Blackford told Times Radio why he believes Nicola Sturgeon’s claim that she spent no time in the kitchen and therefore didn’t see any of her husband’s purchases:
“She doesn’t have a passion for cooking.”
