Between 28 April and 12 May, arrivals surged from 10,000 to 12,000. That’s 2,000 people in just 14 days, or 175 per day. n the 10,000-12,000 period in 2024 – much later in the year from May 25 to June 19 – the daily average was just 80. At this rate, Britain is on course to see nearly 29,000 small boat arrivals by the end of August. The total number of Channel crossings last year was 37,000. Starmer is on track to smash last year’s figure rather than any gangs…
