The Guardian went big on its Sunday exclusive revealing that Jack Aaron, former Reform candidate for Welwyn Hatfield who had said Hitler was “brilliant in using [personality traits] to inspire people into action,” is now running vetting for the party. Explosive stuff…
The only problem – the fact that Aaron was Reform’s vetting officer was revealed by Will Lloyd in The Times all the way back in September last year. A sixth month old story – impressive even for the Guardian…
“I didn’t mean he was a brilliant man,” explained Aaron, meaning I had been at the Reform UK conference for exactly 15 minutes before entering into a Hitler chat. Luckily, Aaron had found new employment. He said he was a full-time vetting officer for Reform.”
That’s the whole Guardian exclusive story there. Naturally it’s no longer on the front of the website’s UK politics page. Catch the news – 178 days late…
Speaking to Sky News off the back of Rachel Reeves’ Air Passenger Duty hike, Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary said:
“Labour is dependent on those Red Wall seats, and yet every move she makes poisons economic growth and damages the UK’s recovery… it’s the Chancellor who stumbles from policy misstep to policy misstep… I think her policy decisions are incredibly stupid.”
