The new contract, which went live yesterday, is worth a staggering £110 million over six years – covering security, welfare services, hospital bed watch, furniture provision, and cleaning. All this for a capacity of just 130 migrants, meaning the taxpayer is coughing up £846,154 per detainee. And that’s just Phase 1 of construction. Once Phase 2 expands capacity to 600, expect another massive contract to follow…
