All but two of the questions on the Order Paper were Labour – are Tories not putting in for PMQs? Are they listless, indolent or demoralised? A couple were called to spare their party blushes but they were last-minute and lightly-baked.
Support for the Tory leader has slumped in her wider party (she’s 7th in ConHome’s ranking now) and only a third of her MPs have any enthusiasm for her. It won’t have helped that this morning she chose to avoid the story of the day “I’ll come back to that when the case is over,” she said (Tory astonishment).
