The latest Ipsos poll make grim reading for Downing Street as they head into the Christmas break. The Government doesn’t fare much better, with a whopping 70% of the public dissatisfied. Even more striking, 65% believe the economy will worsen in the next year – the bleakest outlook since the post-mini-budget chaos at the end of 2022. Starmer said to Robert Peston this afternoon:
“I’m fed up with the fact that families across the country see their bills go up and down on energy businesses bills go up and down on energy because of the actions of Putin or Trump across the world.”
