The Tories have now launched their campaign on TikTok with… Sunak’s National Service announcement. Which has already been seen 30,000 times…
Sunak says:
“Hi TikTok – sorry to be breaking into your usual politics-free feed, but I’m making a big announcement today and I’ve been told that a lot of you already have some views on it. So first thing, no I’m not sending everyone off to join the Army, what I am doing is proposing a bold new model of national service for 18-year-olds… I know a lot of you will have questions on this so follow the account put your thoughts in the comments and I’ll be replying in the next few days.”
Predictably, the top comments are “What if someone doesn’t want to?” and “Who is paying me“. Though one says: “Tbf it’s a good idea, I would happily join the army or navy for a year, you just need to ensure pay.” Labour . Looks like Dowden has got over banning it then…
The Tories are behind Labour who have been churning out short-form videos for two days. The views on some of them are lacking…
UPDATE: Video reaches a whopping 720,000 views.
Starmer loyalist and Housing Secretary Steve Reed told Sky News that Starmer should not be replaced:
“We saw what the Tories did. They were in power for 14 years, and after 2016, I think we had nine education secretaries, seven chancellors, and five Prime Ministers. Doomscrolling through Prime Ministers doesn’t resolve the problem.”
