Angela Rayner gave a “keynote” speech on workers’ rights (now watered down by her opponents at the top of the party) at the Chartered Management Institute this morning. Absent of journalists, there were no questions allowed. Rayner will not make an media appearance today in accompaniment. Guido thought he might at least try to watch it. Labour’s press office said they didn’t have a link as it was an “external event“. The Institute itself provided no details. It was silence from Rayner’s spokesman. Is this the most incognito policy speech ever delivered?
Rayner has ducked the media for over a month now. When her party leader attempted to defend his wilful blindness over her supposedly exonerating “expert tax advice” he was skewered by Richard Madeley. At least five former neighbours of hers have told the police that she did not live where she is claiming to. She can’t keep hiding forever…
Red Wall Labour backbencher Jonathan Brash told GB News that Starmer should resign:
“I’m completely fed up about it, and I think it’s got to the point now where I genuinely think that, as far as the Prime Minister is concerned, it’s not a case of if, it’s when.”
