Reform have been having a little trouble with their candidates selection recently, and Tice has come under fire over his selection process after the party had to bin a few candidates over racist comments. Tommy Cawkwell was Reform’s candidate for York Central, though he sadly passed away in early February this year. However, this month, Reform confirmed that Tommy had be sacked for being “inactive“, with one party spokesperson saying of such candidates “We can’t afford to have people doing nothing in an election year”. Even the Tories waded in, questioning, “why do their candidates not want any publicity for their campaigns in these seats in York? Reform is clearly not the answer”. Reform has since learnt of their former candidate’s passing. Not exactly an easy mistake…
