Tory MPs are still in uproar over the William Wragg honeytrap saga. Far from taking Hunt’s line that he was “courageous” in admitting he handed over many private phone numbers of other MPs to the blackmailer – so “compromising” content of himself wouldn’t be released – many Tories are furious over his “unhinged” behaviour. The latest gossip circulating SW1 is that members – other Tory MPs – want Wragg suspended from the Carlton Club for 18 months. The rumour is members made the decision last night…
One gay Tory MP tells Guido of the move to suspend Wragg:
“I know they are worried. They have been getting calls about his behaviour. He is always in there c**ted with Jacob Young and Gary Sambrook. I know a number of people have raised their behaviour with the Club. A number of us have really cut back on going as it is like GAY-late when they are there.”
The Club declined to comment when Guido approached them. Classic Carlton Club…
Speaking to Sky News off the back of Rachel Reeves’ Air Passenger Duty hike, Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary said:
“Labour is dependent on those Red Wall seats, and yet every move she makes poisons economic growth and damages the UK’s recovery… it’s the Chancellor who stumbles from policy misstep to policy misstep… I think her policy decisions are incredibly stupid.”
