The Ministry of Defence is at it again. They’ve been hit by a wave of fresh claims of a “toxic” and “sexist” culture as figures seen by The Guardian  show 99 allegations by civil servants of bullying and harassment are currently being investigated. Perhaps the Cabinet Office will be more reluctant to bring the pen-pushers into the office everyday in this department…

While just six accusations were made in 2021, numbers skyrocketed to eighty-three in 2023, and eleven made this January alone. Accusations include groping, harassment and verbal abuse, with one woman claiming a senior official told her “there were only two kinds of women in defence, the bitches, who were effective, and the mumsy ones, who were completely useless”. Ouch…
