Sadiq Khan has finally admitted that not every method of cutting carbon in the city yields benefits that outweigh the costs. Khan admitted that the low traffic neighbourhood (LTN) scheme in London is fuelling chaos – children not being able to get to school on time and idling cars billowing emissions being just some blazingly obvious examples. Unsurprisingly, the Labour scheme designed to “improve” air quality has left citizens in a haze of frustration…
Speaking on LBC, our London Mayor said:
“The LTN in Streatham is causing huge problems. Yesterday I was in touch with Lambeth council to see what my team can do to resolve the issue and so we’ve asked the council to look at it urgently in relation to the consequences of a very well-intentioned LTN.”
Khan has cleared the air on that one. Perhaps ULEZ might be next?
