Today marks one year since Rishi Sunak’s coronation as Tory party leader. To celebrate, YouGov have published new data on the PM’s reputation, comparing today’s results to those from 365 days ago. Much like the party’s polling, it won’t be easy reading for Downing Street…

A year ago, 25% of Brits expected him to be “good” or “great“. Today, just 11% think he has lived up to that potential. A whopping 50% say he has been “poor/terrible“, up from 29% when he walked into Number 10. 48% of Conservative voters – who never voted for him to get the job in the first place – say he’s been an “average” performer…

Even on economic competence, Rishi’s supposedly signature attribute, the public have soured: trust has fallen from 50% to 31%. In fact, across every policy category, Rishi has seen a net decrease of at least fifteen points since last year.

Trust in his judgement has plummeted…
