Rayner Praises Arguments Attacking Labour’s Own Housing Policy mdi-fullscreen

Angela Rayner is guest-hosting on LBC today to give listeners a break from James O’Brien and seems to be in a conciliatory mood. An estate agency owner called in to calmly dismantle Labour’s clearly stated policy of banning Section 21 notices, also known as no-fault evictions:

The Section 21 ban isn’t the answer… please don’t demonise and bash landlords… they’re the people who are supplying the stuff“.

Banning no-fault evictions would force more landlords out of the market and push up rents…

Rayner offered no rebuttal and had only praise for these points. She said: “You’ve made a really good point for people there, I think you’ve done them justice“. Finally someone is standing up for landlords…

Angela’s clearly had a change of heart when it comes to landlords this morning; less than 24 hours ago she was vehemently attacking the government for delaying the Section 21 ban, saying that it has “betrayed renters with this grubby deal” and that the continued existence of no-fault evictions “comes at a heavy price for renters who have been let down for too long already“. Landlords across the country will no doubt welcome her as their champion…
