Costly Portcullis House Trees Face Cuts mdi-fullscreen

The Portcullis House fig trees, which had been in place since 2001, were removed over the weekend. The trees had outgrown their planters and proved difficult to maintain, with annual costs coming in at £20,000. The lifetime expense to taxpayers was over £500,000.
