John Swinney, Sturgeon’s deputy first minister, has survived a vote of no confidence by eight votes; 65 to 57. The VONC was brought against Swinney by the Scottish Tories when he failed to publish Salmond evidence.

Despite Swinney then publishing evidence, the Tories pushed ahead claiming some information was still missing. Sturgeon’s turn next…
