This morning on Today Chancellor Phillip Hammond, alongside contemplating the need for a second referendum, revealed he would be swinging his weight behind someone in the leadership contest who is “perhaps a fresher face.” Coincidentally, rising contender Matt Hancock told the same programme just five days earlier that “we need a fresh start and a fresh face.” In fact Hancock’s entire pitch is founded on that he is a “fresh face”…
