EU Draft Conclusions Approve Brexit Extension to 22nd May, Longer Extension Rejected

Brussels journalists have got their hands on the draft conclusions EU leaders have been discussing today. They indicate that the EU will agree to a short extension of Article 50 to 22nd May “provided the Withdrawal Agreement is approved”. As expected.

More significantly they make clear that they will not allow any extension beyond that date “given that the United Kingdom does not intend to hold elections to the European Parliament”. The 4D-chess game gets another dimension…
