Sadiq Khan has hired Peter Mandelson to advise him on Brexit. No doubt the importance of protecting pensions will be top of his priorities list. Khan and Mandelson fell out badly during the Labour leadership election in 2010 when Sadiq, then Ed Miliband’s campaign agent, blasted Mandy as part of “the New Labour attack machine” spinning “the same old messages”. Mandy hit back at Khan suggesting he wasn’t engaging in “grown-up politics”.
