As of Friday lunchtime 63 constituencies have declared their Labour leadership nominations: 51 for Corbyn and 12 for Owen Smith. Eight of Smith’s 12 nominations come from London CLPs and he has just one backer north of the M25 – he really is the metropolitan elite candidate. One of the CLPs which did vote for Oily was the leafy south London suburb of Wimbledon, where Guido is told “the bar ran out of Sauvignon Blanc”.
