Labour Demand Snap Election


Corbynista Jon Trickett says:

“It is crucial,  given the instability caused by the Brexit vote,  that the country has a democratically elected Prime Minister. I am now putting the whole of the party on a General Election footing. It is time for the Labour Party to unite and ensure the millions of people in the country left behind by the Tories’ failed economic policies, have the opportunity to elect a Labour government.”

Farron has made the same call. May has previously ruled it out but she’ll be tempted to bury Labour in the autumn…

UPDATE: Angela Eagle has the nominations and a Labour leadership contest is on, Iain McNicol has just confirmed. Six minutes apart, Labour have sent out press releases demanding a snap general election and announcing their own leadership contest…
