Each week Labour’s defence team rounds up “all the stories and issues” of the past week and emails it to the Labour Friends of the Forces group. For some reason this morning’s email omits to mention the Shadow Defence Secretary’s refusal to respond to a Falklands heroes on Wednesday. Or the revelation yesterday that she doesn’t know what Defcon One means as she has only heard it in films. What’s more, today’s email comes from Vernon Coaker, “Shadow Secretary of State for Defence”, a position he relinquished way back in September last year. Emily Thornberry isn’t mentioned in the round-up at all. Keep calm and carry on as if she isn’t Labour’s Defence spokesman…
