Three months ago Nancy Platts, the chairman of Brighton Labour, left to work for Jeremy Corbyn. This weekend she was replaced by another Corbynista, the splendidly-named Lloyd Russell-Moyle. His politics are as red as his carrot top.
CND supporter Russell-Moyle features prominently on the Facebook page of Brighton Momentum, the local branch of the far-left campaign group. Here he is handing out leaflets with Momentum activists:
The first question for Russell-Moyle is what he thinks about Corbyn’s reported plan not to run a Labour candidate against the Greens in Brighton Pavilion, so he can protect his old friend Caroline Lucas. Will the Momentum-backing chair of Brighton CLP stand up for Brighton Labour, or give in to the Greens?
