Momentum Members Target Chuka mdi-fullscreen

THREAT

A must-read undercover account of a Momentum meeting in Lambeth by Conservative Home’s Mark Wallace this afternoon. Momentum members shared leaflets calling for “a vote of no confidence in Chuka Umunna”, activists sought signatures for a petiton “against Chuka” and one member demanded to know from the chief Momentum organiser: “What are you going to do about Umunna?” “That’s a very good question,” she replied.

Then John McDonnell turned up and had this to say about Simon Danczuk:

“Simon is Simon…you just have to work with him. Eventually we’ll resolve the matter… [laughter]… I’m not saying how… [more laughter]… I’m not trying to set a hare running… in an amicable way I will convince him to my way of thinking.”

Subtle.

As Guido revealed on Sunday, the threat to Labour’s London MPs is being organised from the Croydon branch of Momentum, which is based in Ruskin House. The building is better known as the national headquarters of the Communist Party of Britain…
