Momentum members shared leaflets calling for “a vote of no confidence in Chuka Umunna”, activists sought signatures for a petiton “against Chuka” and one member demanded to know from the chief Momentum organiser: “What are you going to do about Umunna?” “That’s a very good question,” she replied.
Then John McDonnell turned up and had this to say about Simon Danczuk:
“Simon is Simon…you just have to work with him. Eventually we’ll resolve the matter… [laughter]… I’m not saying how… [more laughter]… I’m not trying to set a hare running… in an amicable way I will convince him to my way of thinking.”
