Reform In Good Time: PM Reneges On Christmas Promise

EU REFORM

How’s that whole renegotiation thing going? Well, David Cameron has just admitted that he won’t be getting a deal before Christmas, as previously promised. This is Downing Street’s summary of his phone call with Angela Merkel today:

[The Prime Minister] noted that the scale of what we are asking for means we will not resolve this is one go and consequently who did not expect to get agreement at the December European Council. Instead, we should keep up the pace of discussions and use the summit for a substantive discussion of the proposed changes in each area.

An early Christmas present for the Leave campaign…

Quote of the Day

Lucy Allan explains her positive comments about the Brexit Party…

“If EU elections are held, Leave supporting voters will want to vote for Leave supporting candidates… Usual party loyalties will be eclipsed by the Leave v Remain divide. It’s good to see strong candidates in the Leave camp. However, I sincerely hope we leave the EU before these elections are held so that we can move on and not waste time and money on unnecessary EU elections.”
