Ken Livingstone extraordinarily claimed last night that the July 7th terrorists sacrificed themselves in a protest against British foreign policy. Speaking on Question Time he said:

“Go and look at what they put on their website. They did those killings because of our invasion of Iraq. They gave their lives, they said what they believed…They took Londoners lives in protest…I remember when Tony Blair was told if you go into Iraq, we will be a target for terrorism. He ignored that advice, and it killed 52 Londoners.”

Victim blaming, whataboutery, and viewing terrorists as martyrs in one fell swoop. Quite a feat even for Red Ken…
