Labour activists have been busy campaigning in the staunchly Tory seat of Wimbledon recently, releasing a rather bizarre leaflet in the process. To prove its opening claim that “politics is changing”, the leaflet references the fact that Jeremy Corbyn ‘does not own a car’, ‘scarcely drinks alcohol’, and ‘has been vegetarian since working on a pig farm in his youth’.  Guido takes it he’ll be skipping the Pimms at Wimbledon next year then, although the strawberries may be appreciated…

It then goes on to lay into Osborne by parodying his previous budget in a dismal attempt at satire. The Chancellor is quoted as saying the budget “will ensure working families earning over £100,000 will be as much as £406 better off a year”, whereas people earning less than £20,000 will be worse off, and will ‘”just have to get along with less”. The piece closes with “Note*: This is satire”. Is it? If you have to tell someone it’s a joke then it probably isn’t very funny…
