They will be pleased to have landed the man who numbers among his admirers the current Chancellor of the Exchequer. His appointment will make it more difficult for the likes of George Osborne in particular to credibly claim that “nobody serious supports Brexit”. He also provides a much needed antidote in media terms to Ken Clarke, who is fanatically Europhile…
