1% of ConHome Readers Back NiMo For Leader

Nicky Morgan has enjoyably told the Speccie that she wants to run for Tory leader:

“A lot of it will depend on family. I’d be saying this if I were male or female – in the sense that being leader of the party is so all-consuming, putting such a pressure on family relationships. I hope that, in the not-too-distant future, there will be another female leader of a main Westminster political party.”

The highly unscientific Conservative Home readers’ future leader poll suggests NiMo might be being a little optimistic. She has been down on just 1% for the last four months, behind not only Osborne, May, Saj and Boris but also Liam Fox, Michael Gove and even Jeremy Hunt. On the plus, that means at least 8 Tory members think she can do it…

Quote of the Day

Lewis Goodall opines

“Remainer readers may dislike Mr Farage – they may dislike his style, his rhetoric, his approach – but he cannot be faulted for his appreciation of strategy. If his opponents don’t up their game – and fast – he will beat them, just as he did before.”
