The man responsible for the disastrous Care.data programme, NHS England’s national information director Tim Kelsey, has announced he will shortly be jumping the sinking digital NHS ship. In three short years, Kelsey turned Care.data, an IT project that was supposed to help the NHS share medical records, into a dysfunctional and unsecured disaster. One peer-reviewed case study described it as “highly problematic… mismanaged… inadequate…”
