The global video game industry is now bigger than Hollywood, yet the EU’s “Creative Europe” programme saw fit to hand out £2.4 million of taxpayers’ money to computer game developers last year.
Research by the TPA reveals games funded to the tune of tens of thousands of pounds each, including “Party Tennis: Euro Tour”, “Future Unfolding” a “surrealistic adventure game about the mind during meditation and dreaming” and “Ship Emergency Simulator” the world’s first “maritime career simulator“. The creators of “Ship Emergency Simulator” admitted the game is “fairly undramatic” in their grant application. Sounds very PC…
