One of Britain’s biggest engineering companies is canning its renewable division following the government’s decision to pull the plug on the wind subsidy racket. The steelwork firm Mabey took the decision to close down its specialist wind turbine fabrication factory in Chepstow after the subsidy cut scuppered their plans to sell off the plant to a private equity firm.
Mabey will now focus on building “high quality bridging and infrastructure solutions“. Good.
