Farage Hits Back at “Westminster Bubble” Carswell

Douglas Carswell MP and Ukip leader Nigel Farage

Just when you thought the war was over, Douglas Carswell fired another rocket over the UKIP border post on Saturday:

“I think some of the tone we deployed, for example, the comments about HIV, were plain wrong. Wrong on so many levels. Not just wrong because they were electorally unhelpful, but wrong because they were wrong.”

This morning Farage himself hits back at “many in the Westminster bubble” who criticised the comments:

“Though many in the Westminster bubble were outraged by my comments about the impact of Health Tourism, and appalled that I mentioned those with HIV as part of that problem, what was clear was that the general public did not share that outrage.”

Seems UKIP now consider their only MP a member of the Westminster bubble…

Quote of the Day

Peter Mandelson tells Emma Barnett…

“I think that Jeremy Corbyn himself should search his conscience and ask himself whether he’s the best person to lead the Labour Party into the general election with the best chance of success for the party.”
