Back in March Israeli pollsters were forecasting that Likud’s Binyamin Netanyahu would lose seats and be out of government. In the event he defied the pundits predicting his political demise – which was taken as a virtual given only days before – and gained seats. So whomever you are nervously backing in this allegedly knife edge election, you can take comfort from the fact that pollsters do get it very wrong.
