Some Numbers For Ed to Read on the Way Up to Scotland

Today Ed is sharing a platform with Jim Murphy for the first time during the election campaign, so here are a few numbers for him to read on the train up to Scotland:

The latest poll of polls average from John Curtice has Labour trailing the SNP by 18 points north of the border. While a Times/YouGov poll this morning has the Nats on the biggest ever lead, translating to 55 seats at Westminster. And just four for Labour…

Meanwhile the only poll since the Scottish Leaders’ Debates has Sturgeon as the clear winner on 56%. Murphy languishes in third on a meagre 13%, behind the punchy Ruth Davidson on 14%. At least Miliband and Balls are on their way up to turn things around…

Tip offs: 0709 284 0531

Quote of the Day

Former Governor of the Bank of England Mervyn King…

“There are arguments for remaining in the EU and there are arguments for leaving the EU. But there is no case whatever for giving up the benefits of remaining without obtaining the benefits of leaving.”
