The Tory Attack Ad Labour Tried to Ban

This Tory attack ad featuring old footage of the two Eds in the Treasury has been pulled from YouTube. It features footage from the documentary ‘We are the Treasury’, which was broadcast in 1997 and traced the early day of McMental’s stewardship of the economy. The documentary surfaced recently on the Telegraph website featuring footage of Ed Balls smoking and spinning while Ed Miliband gurned like an amphetamine fuelled hippo.

When Panorama tried to use the clips in 2007, they were met with the full might of McBride’s Treasury spin team, as detailed here.

Guido understands that STV have come under intense pressure from ‘a third party’- believed to be Labour – to have the footage scrubbed from the internet. This is now the only place you can see it…

I cannot support an indefinite backstop arrangement, where the EU holds a veto over our ability to exit…”
