Will Straw’s “Disgust at MPs” Suddenly Lacking

Back during the expenses scandal, Will Straw, then editor of Left Foot Forward, was a fearless campaigner against corrupt politicians. Will wrote that“bloggers of left, right and centre were united today in disgust” at MPs caught by the Telegraph, even “urging readers to show their displeasure with Britain’s parliamentarians by voting for Heather Brooke [the journalist responsible] as Reformer of the Year”. He even set up a whole category of posts on his blog under the title “Clean Politics“, complaining that “MPs continue to miss the public mood”. Fast forward six years and for some reason Will, now Labour’s candidate in Rossendale and Darwen, is strangely quiet about the latest news story about sleazy politicians mired in scandal. Why could that be…
