Hinge, the US Tinder-like dating app launched, in London yesterday with a rooftop party overlooking the Thames. The app works by hoovering up your Facebook details and matching you with friends of friends. “No randos,” as they put it.

Hinge notoriously spent the last of $25,000 of their funding on an epic party in 2013 in a last-ditch effort to get people to sign up to the app. With that in mind Techno Guido had high expectations for last night. There was a nice view, pounding music and a very, very long wait for the free bar. Considering it was a party for people who use their phones to find dates, the room was reasonably good looking – though the most attractive people at the event were the waiters/waitresses being mobbed for canapés. Shame it was so dark.
