In a remarkably forthright address to the Lords yesterday, Lord Lloyd of Berwick told his fellow Peers that 100,000 Muslims in the UK sympathise with terrorists:

“There are currently 2.5 million Muslims in this country who are utterly loyal. In addition, there are 100,000 Muslims who sympathise with the terrorists.”

The 100,000 figure appears to come from a YouGov poll in 2006 which found 6% of Muslims supported the 7 July bombers – which the Telegraph said worked out to a total of 100,000 individuals. The figure given for those who had sympathy with the bombers was 24%. As someone once said, either you are with us or you are with the terrorists…
