Ed Miliband had to intervene after his crowd started heckling and booing the BBC at his first speech of the campaign. When Norman Smith had the temerity to question Labour’s NHS spin, the crowd erupted demanding the “pillock” should “go back to London”:


“We will hear everyone with respect,” bleated Ed, “particularly Norman” – which will surely endear the BBC News Channel’s politics chief to already sceptical Tories.

Sadly there was no one from Sky or ITV to ask questions, despite prompting from Ed. It’s ok though – he managed to win over a swing voter. The “Joint Chair of Greater Manchester Against the Bedroom Tax. She was heard “with respect”. Video to follow….
