Like fellow right-winger Jim Murphy before her, Mary Creagh is said to be absolutely seething about her brutal demotion to the political wilderness of shadow International Development. ‘Fuming’ was how one shadow ministerial ally put it to Guido at the weekend.

Cynical sources point to Creagh’s claim in the transport debate on Wednesday that: “I have nothing against privatisation”.
