Another Labour Woman Stands Down Female Casualty Rate Since 2010 Now 12.3%

Last week Guido reported that the Labour female casualty rate was actually higher than the Tories, well they have extended that lead today. Sian James, Labour’s MP for Swansea East, is standing down in 2015 because “it is time for me to pursue other opportunities”. That now puts the Labour female casualty rate since 2010 at 12.3%. Given that James entered parliament in 2005 and has done nothing of note in her political career, Labour can hardly trot out their usual line that she is standing down after a long and distinguished career serving the public. Still, having MP on her CV stands her in good stead to go and coin it in the private sector…

Quote of the Day

Councillor John Thomas, Keith Vaz’s Leicester East Constituency Labour Party Chairman says…

“This is great disappointment to me, realising that I have spent over 30 years of my life working for a party that I now know that I have nothing in common with. This is not the party I joined, the party for decent working people. I can no longer follow the clown that leads the Labour Party, he is heavily influenced by the Trotskyite Len McCluskey and is now as the Hoki Coki leader, in out, and shake it all about he has turned this great party into a laughing stock.”
