Another Tory MP Falls For Telegraph Sting

The Telegraph have done over Tory MP Mark Pritchard, who told an undercover reporter he could use his position to set up business deals with foreign officials for hundreds of thousands of pounds. Pritchard is the former chairman of the APPG on Albania and is still a member of the committee. Apparently determined to commit career suicide, he explained to a reporter how he could broker deals in the country in return for cash.

“To be completely brutal, I know the mayor, I know the prime minister, I know the speaker. I don’t lobby. I don’t, whatever. But my network I will use. So it would be the figure that I’ve mentioned, but also it would be 3 per cent, and this is in, I’ll email you my contract, 3 per cent of the gross amount — for the introduction — on the signing of the contract.”

He is consulting his lawyers. They never learn…

I cannot support an indefinite backstop arrangement, where the EU holds a veto over our ability to exit…”
