Doors open at 6pm this evening for the Bath open primary to select their Tory candidate for 2015. Local residents popping down may want to take a moment to remember the 1974 IRA bombing of Bath’s Corridor shopping centre, which caused huge damage and widespread terror across a quiet, peaceful city in Somerset. One of the hopefuls vying for your vote this evening is Ben Howlett, the gaffe prone former Tory youth chairman who, when asked to name the politician from Northern Ireland he admires most, answered Gerry Adams. Worth remembering.
